5 Weird Games Ep 1
by Andrea “The Grill” of Geeky Gaming
There are a lot of weird games out there. Here are a few for you.
Hey Geeks, it’s Andrea. So I was thinking about how many weird games there are in the world. There are so many I can’t see just doing 1 video about it because there will always be more. So I figured, let’s do a regular series of 5 weird games that way you guys can check out the 5 then recommend more and we can make it a regular thing. Alright Geeks, let’s go.
- Rinse and Repeat
Starting out is a pretty adult game, so you might want to look away. Do you ever just get the urge to scrub a man down after he finishes working out? If you do, here is the game for you. You’re graded on how well you scrub him in each part he wants you to clean. From what I can tell, it seems to be based off of the speed that you are moving your mouse and possibly staying in the area. Although I haven’t personally seen it, I know if you get a good score there is some special ending. I didn’t look it up, so if you want to know, I’ll let you google it.
- Goat Simulator
I’m pretty sure most of you have heard of this game. I almost didn’t put it on the list just due to the popularity of it. I mean, I love the game. It is a crazy amount of fun. Popular or not, if you think about it for a minute… This game is freaking weird. You’re running around as a goat… Already weird. You hold things with your ridiculously large tongue… Okay that’s getting weirder. Really there is nothing about this game that isn’t, well, weird. That all being said, it is a crazy amount of fun and if you haven’t checked it out, I highly recommend it. This is your homework for the day, play some goat simulator.
Okay this is a pretty strange one. On the Dreamcast there weren’t a crazy amount of pet simulator games. It wasn’t like the way the DS is today. I love pet simulator games, don’t get me wrong, but this one… I… hmm… Well it is a fish with a human head. Okay. How could this get any weirder? It isn’t like they would hire some big famous person to do narrate the game, at least. I mean the game doesn’t even give you instructions, how could it afford… Oh crap it is narrated by Leonard Nimoy. Okay then… If you want to play this one, you can eventually turn into a terrifying looking frog, but you will have to play the game every day to get to that point. You have to evolve from Mushroomer, to Gillman, Podfish, Tadman, and finally Frogman. I can’t decide which is the most nightmare inducing. I’ll leave you with this. There is a Seaman 2 for the PS2.
- What’s under your blanket!?
Like Rinse and Repeat, here is another one that you can’t play on Twitch. What’s under your blanket is a game where you um… fill your green bar while family members, priests, and even Santa comes in randomly to interrupt. Of course you don’t want them to see you filling your green bar because if you do… Well, that’s awkward. But then again, I guess most people have a bit of a fear or being caught filling their bar. There are several different levels so there are different ways you can be interrupted. All in all, this is a pretty funny game to play. I can definitely see playing this with your friends as a party game.
- Katamari Damacy
I need to start out by saying I love Katamari Damacy. Even though my poor thumbs get exhausted. I think the weirdest thing about this game isn’t the fact that you are rolling all kinds of things and people into a giant ball. Or even the fact that those things later become a star in the sky. Instead the oddest thing in the game is probably the Dad. The King of All Cosmos has this weird rolled up carpet for a head, which I guess your characters will grow into when you’re older, but it is more than just that. Everything from the way he looks to the way he speaks is just great. He’s hilarious, he is weird. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Okay there are the first 5 weird games for you. Let me know some other weird games you know of and which of these was the weirdest for you. I really look forward to hearing some of your suggestions in the comments below. There are a couple on this list that I strongly recommend checking out if you haven’t played them before.
