Come countdown these 10 great games to play with your kids, little siblings, or nieces and nephews with us. Let us know in the comments what you played as a kid. If you have kids, what are they playing?

Hey Geeks, it’s Andrea and I am here with Josh. Today we are counting down 10 Games both Kids and Adults Love. I don’t have kids, but I have a niece and nephew who are at that age where they are just starting to become little gamer geeks and it is good to have games that you can play with them that keep you entertained as well. You don’t want to end up playing some horrible Wiggles game. If those exist. Alright Geeks, let’s go.

  1. Disney Infinity
Kicking off our list is a game that I am honestly a little iffy about. The gameplay will leave most adult gamers wanting, but it offers something a little extra to the table. Adults gamers overall love to collect things, so giving them figurines to get their hands on is a smart marketing idea. Kids love them because they can play with them as both little figures and import them into the game to play digitally.
  1. Animal Crossing
I have to admit that I am a bit of an Animal Crossing addict. I love it so much. I literally create and print out charts and keep tabs on what I need to collect and at what time. But I like organizing things like that too much anyway… So, now that I have admitted something I shouldn’t, I highly recommend Animal Crossing. Most people won’t get into it quite as much or weirdly as I do, so it’s a perfectly healthy game for your kids to enjoy. Now if only they’d make one for the Wii-U, I’d be in heaven.
  1. Mario Kart
Keep your trash talk to a minimum and Mario Kart is a great game to play with the mini people around you. I’d say let them win once in a while, but if you don’t want to, I get it. I mean, they have to learn to fail eventually. Just let them down easy. Generally, Nintendo games are a pretty safe bet if you need something to entertain and yet be family friendly.
  1. Little Big Planet
I don’t think it’s too much of a surprise to say that I love Little Big Planet. We actually drove out in super dangerous weather to get our pre-ordered copy of LBP3 from Gamestop the night it came out. It was dangerous and stupid and I probably wouldn’t have done it if I knew how bad the roads were, but I had a great night once I got home. Little Big Planet is a great game that you can play along with those tiny little future adults. Even if it comes down to just simply letting them design the character that you are going to play with, there are ways to get them involved and have hours of fun with them.
  1. Tablet Games
Okay I know this isn’t very specific, but if there is one thing we’ve noticed it is that kids play on tablets more than anything else these days. Many games feature brightly colored creatures that are easy to catch a child’s eye. So whether you’re into Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, or any of those hundreds of games where an animal speaks to you, it’s likely the kid you’re trying to entertain will like it. Just make sure they can’t charge to your account. That might not end well.
  1. Spore
Spore may be a bit older, but it is a great game for kids to get involved with. The earlier stages of evolution are really nice to let your imagination take over. There may be some things, especially later on, in the game that you will have to help them with if they are very young, but I’d definitely prefer to help them with Spore over Secret of the Magic Crystal any day. Please don’t let anyone tell my niece that game exists. Ever.
  1. Super Smash Bros
Like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros is a game that is perfect clean as long as you don’t get too out of hand with your trash talk. Some of my fondest memories are of playing Brawl and Melee with friends. This is definitely a game I would recommend playing with your own kids. Let them get really good at it when they’re young that way when they destroy you at it when they’re older you can feel a sense of pride for having a kid with skills. You’ll also probably feel a little sad because you just got destroyed by your kid in Super Smash Bros.
  1. Pokémon
Pokémon is one of those games that everyone just loves. My sister does not enjoy games. If I talk about them to her, she will literally just tell me she doesn’t care and to shut up. The only game that she still to this day likes is Pokémon. Whether you love collecting things in games, the fighting style or just looking at these adorable little guys, there are many reasons to get into Pokémon games.
  1. LEGO games
Whoever came up with the idea of taking your favorite series and making them into animated LEGO games was probably extremely high and definitely a genius. The LEGO games are crazy popular with children of all ages. Whether you’re 8 years old or 35, there is probably a LEGO series out there for you. There is a reason they keep making them. The only problem I have with them is they are getting more into the micro transaction mini DLC thing that I hate. Seriously if I already paid for the game, why do I have to pay 20 bucks if I want additional character unlocks?
  1. Minecraft
Whenever I first started playing Minecraft in Alpha, I never would have thought of it being a game that kids would dominate the market on. I don’t know why, though. It is a game that really lets you create whatever your heart desires. Whether you want to build entire cities, working calculators, giant monument recreations, just simple pixel art, or challenge yourself in survival modes, you can do it all. If you get bored of that, there are thousands of mods out there to add more for you to do. All around, it is a great game for everyone.
