Ready for some jumpscares? Here are 5 Terrifying Jumpscares in Video Games. Horror Month is ending soon! Only 2 episodes left!

Don’t forget to get your T-Shirt before they’re gone forever!

Hey Geeks, it’s Andrea. A couple weeks ago we went over 5 jumpscares in movies and I think it is important that we go over 5 jumpscares in video games as well, don’t you? We only have a couple more days left in our first Horror Month so when you’re done here, be sure to go pick up a t-shirt to remember you were here for year 1 before it’s over and they’re gone forever. Don’t forget, Monday we are doing group creepypasta readings in discord. Details are in yesterday’s video. Alright Geeks, let’s go.

  1. Thief

You spend a decent amount of time looking through keyholes in Thief, but if you look through this Keyhole at Moira Asylum, you get a bit of a surprise. Other than the fact that you aren’t expecting it, what makes this so scary is the little drawn eye on the wall. This draws your attention deep into the view and can end in you focusing hard on it. That way when this face pops up, you’re so focused you might just fall out of your chair.

  1. Condemned 2: Bloodshot

I freaking hate mannequins. Every time I see them in games, I am not a happy camper. So what does Condemned do to make the best of these models? Add a weeping angels-like series of jump scares. If you are a chicken like I am, this may not be your favorite part of the game, but we can at least appreciate that it was really well done and did a great job of making me hate it for a couple of minutes.

  1. Outlast

Outlast is a very well done horror game. There are a lot of moments that make you anxious. Wondering what is to come. Well… Okay I’ll just admit something super embarrassing. While writing this video I was watching a bunch of jump scares and when I got to this one I made a fool out of myself by watching it while in discord with a few people. I may have screamed and acted like a little bitch about it. There is no proof, only witnesses. It is a pretty standard jump scare, so I don’t know why it hit me so bad. It just for some reason cause a huge overreaction from me. So maybe that’s a good sign that this is a really good jumpscare.

  1. Eternal Darkness

It has been made clear so many times on this channel that Eternal Darkness is one of my favorite games of all time. I played it as a kid, adolescent, and adult. It is a great, classic game. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve played through it. One of the best jump scares in the game happens during one of your times inspecting the main house. In this particular scene you are playing as Alexandra Roivas. After going into the bathroom when you inspect the bathtub you are greeted with your character’s dead body in a blood filled tub.

  1. Until Dawn

Until Dawn was an amazing story driven, decision based, multiple outcome horror game that I highly recommend if you haven’t played it. One of my favorite jump scares from the game and the one that probably got the largest reaction from me personally was this scene with the so-called ghost showed her face to Ashley and Chris. You only see it for a quick second, but her face is what nightmares are made of.
